The Homeopathic Consultation

What can I expect when I see a homeopath?

Using a holistic approach the homeopathic consultation and treatment differs from conventional medicine in that rather than focussing on a specific named disease/diagnosis all factors which have the potential to impact on health are taken into account, (lifestyle, environmental influences, stress factors, diet, medical history, sleep patterns, etc).

During a consultation you will receive a thorough assessment.  You will be supported, listened to, treated with respect, empathy and without judgement. As a professional practitioner I am bound to adhere to a strict code of conduct and confidentiality.

Working on the homeopathic principle of “like cures like” homeopathic prescriptions are individually tailored to match as closely as possible all the symptoms you are suffering from, (eg if you are suffering from both asthma and eczema, and your symptoms are worse at a specific time of day or month of the year a homeopath will endeavour to try to find the closest prescription which incorporates all these factors.

You will not be asked to remove your clothing for invasive physical examinations.  If you require a diagnosis for your condition you must contact your general practitioner or other health care professional.

Although occasionally I may prescribe at the time of the consultation I will usually post the prescription within a few days to allow time for me to reflect and research in depth the information obtained during your consultation so that the prescription is individually tailored to meet your needs as closely as possible. The time involved undertaking this research is incorporated within the cost of the consultation.  Within the consultation I sometimes suggest Bach Flower Essences, (link to Bach); tissue salts, creams or tinctures alongside your homeopathic treatment which are not included within the price of your consultation.
